Mission
Statement
Purpose:
The purpose of the Point Mugu Alumni Association (PMAA) is
two-fold. First, it is to provide an official
post-employment liaison between those who have participated in the
past accomplishments of the mission of the Navy at Point Mugu and
the ongoing tenant organizations. Secondly, it is to provide
an opportunity and the means for the alumni to continue to
contribute to the national defense capability by offering their
corporate and technical knowledge, experience and official support
for the Navy's interests locally.
Mission:
The mission of the PMAA is to offer a sustained relationship
between those who have participated in achieving the mission of
the Navy at Point Mugu and the ongoing organizations. This
liaison seeks to recognize the patriotic contribution and
dedication of those who have passed through the gates of the Point
Mugu naval facilities and provide a vehicle for them to express
their lasting pride by staying abreast of current developments,
providing community support and being available to share
experiences and knowledge with the current command and each other.
Functions:

Maintain
a database of alumni.

Maintain
an organization with by-laws and officers.

Maintain
a formal relationship with the current command.

Provide
the Navy with a resource for technical, corporate and
historical expertise to current organizations.

Regularly
interface with the Command through established points of
contact.

Advise
alumni of opportunities to participate in Command events and
activities.

Maintain
members interest and support of current technological
developments, programs and current issues.

Work
closely with historical organizations and national
associations to preserve the legacy of the technical
developments and accomplishments of the Point Mugu naval
complex.

Plan
and implement special events in honor of anniversaries,
dedications, milestones and personal recognition.

Provide
plans and support for raising funds for such endeavors in
accordance with the Navy's regulatory guidelines.
